Budgeting

Your money, your data.

This Privacy Policy explains how Budgeting handles your information when you track your accounts, plan your budgets and goals, and ask its AI assistant about your money.

Effective: September 29, 2026 contact@devello.co

Privacy Policy for Budgeting. Budgeting is a personal finance app developed by Devello (“Devello”, “we”, “us”). Devello is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. Because financial information is personal, we collect only what the app needs, we do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising. By using Budgeting, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

1Information You Provide

Budgeting never connects to your bank: it works with what you enter yourself, including:

  • Account details: your email address and the name you give, from signing in with Apple, with Google or with an email and password.
  • Your setup answers: your name, currency and monthly income, and your pay day if you add it.
  • Accounts and balances: the names, types and balances of the accounts, assets and debts you add.
  • Transactions: amounts, dates, categories, the merchant or payee, the account, and any notes or splits.
  • Plans: your budgets, your goals (their names, targets, dates, covers and what you put toward them) and your recurring payments.
  • Assistant chat: the questions you ask the AI assistant and its answers.
  • Messages to us: what you send from Help & support, with your email address so we can reply.

2Information Created as You Use the App

  • An account identifier that links your data to your sign-in.
  • Monthly summaries worked out from your transactions, such as totals by category and by day.
  • Your preferences: appearance, hidden balances, AI preferences and when you allowed the assistant to use your data.
  • Assistant usage: how many questions and category suggestions you ask each day and how much AI processing they took, to keep to daily limits.
  • Your subscription: whether Budgeting Pro is on and until when, as the App Store reports it through our subscription provider.
  • Technical information needed to run and protect the service, such as the app version and device type sent with requests to our providers.

Budgeting does not collect your precise location, contacts or advertising identifier, and it does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

3Financial Information

Balances, transactions, income and goals are financial information. We use them only to provide the features you choose, such as your net worth, spending, budgets, goals, insights and the answers you ask the assistant for.

We do not sell your information. We do not use it for advertising or share it with advertisers or data brokers.

The insights on the Home and AI screens are worked out from your data by the app itself, without AI.

4How We Use Information

  • To show your balances, net worth, spending, budgets, goals, recurring payments and insights.
  • To keep your monthly summaries and your goals' progress up to date.
  • To answer your questions and suggest categories with the AI assistant, when you allow it.
  • To show your goals in the home and lock screen widgets.
  • To confirm your access to Budgeting Pro.
  • To keep the service secure and reliable, prevent abuse, and fix errors.
  • To answer your support and privacy requests.

5AI Assistant (Google Gemini)

The assistant stays off until you allow it to use your data. Its answers are written with the help of a third-party AI service, the Gemini API from Google LLC. Our servers send the request; the app itself never contacts the AI service.

  • When you ask a question: the question goes with a written summary of your data: your name, monthly income, accounts and balances, the last four months' totals, budgets, goals, recurring payments, the last 30 days of transactions and your recent chat. Transaction notes are included only if you turn that on in AI preferences.
  • When the expense form suggests a category for a merchant you haven't used before: only the merchant's name.

Google processes this information on Devello's behalf to produce the answer. Under the Gemini API terms for paid services, it does not use this data to improve its products. The questions and answers are stored in your own account and deleted when you clear your chat or delete your data.

You can turn the assistant off at any time under Settings → Data & privacy → Allow AI to use my data, and clear your chat under Settings → AI preferences → Clear AI chat history. AI answers can be inaccurate or incomplete; they are informational, not financial advice.

6On Your Phone

  • App lock. Its settings stay on your phone, and your passcode is kept in the phone's Keychain only as a salted hash, never on our servers. Face ID is handled by iOS; Budgeting only learns whether it matched.
  • Widgets. To draw the home and lock screen widgets, your goals' names, amounts and progress are saved on your phone, where only Budgeting and its widgets read them. They are removed when you sign out, and amounts stay hidden while you hide your balances.
  • Offline use. A copy of your data is kept on your phone so the app works without a connection.

7Subscriptions and Payments

Budgeting Pro is bought through the Apple App Store, which processes your payment under its own terms; we never receive your card details. Our subscription provider, RevenueCat, Inc., receives the purchase records the App Store shares, linked to your account identifier, so that Budgeting Pro works on each of your devices and our servers can confirm your access. We keep only whether Budgeting Pro is on and until when.

8Service Providers

We rely on these providers, which process information on our behalf under their own security and privacy obligations:

  • Google LLC — Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions and Hosting) to run the service and store your data, and the Gemini API for the assistant as described in section 5.
  • RevenueCat, Inc. — subscription management, as described in section 7.
  • Apple Inc. and Google LLC — app distribution and payments, and Sign in with Apple or Google sign-in if you choose them.

9Where Your Data Is Stored

Your data is stored on Google Cloud in the europe-west1 region, in Belgium. Sign-in (Firebase Authentication), the Gemini API and RevenueCat may process information in other countries, including the United States. Where information is transferred across borders, we rely on appropriate safeguards required by applicable data-protection law, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

10Retention and Deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account exists. You can delete everything at any time under Settings → Data & privacy → Delete all data: your accounts, transactions, budgets, goals, recurring payments, assistant chat and your sign-in are permanently removed from our systems. Deletion cannot be undone.

Deleting your data does not cancel Budgeting Pro: cancel it in your Apple account's subscription settings. The purchase records RevenueCat keeps for your account are not removed by Delete all data; email us and we will delete them.

Deleting the app from your phone does not delete your account. You can also email us from the address you sign in with, and we will delete your account. Support messages are kept for as long as we need them to help you.

11Security

Information is encrypted in transit and at rest by our infrastructure provider. Security rules limit each account to its own data, and every change goes through our servers. You can also lock the app with Face ID or a passcode under Settings → Security. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

12Your Privacy Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, for example under the GDPR in the European Union, you may have the right to:

  • Access your information and receive a portable copy: use Settings → Data & privacy → Export my data.
  • Correct your information: edit your profile, accounts, transactions and plans in the app.
  • Delete your information: use Delete all data, or email us.
  • Withdraw consent: turn off Allow AI to use my data at any time; this does not affect processing before you withdrew.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Complain to your local data-protection authority.

We process your information to provide the app you signed up for, and use the assistant only with your consent. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To make a privacy request, email contact@devello.co.

13Children

Budgeting is not directed to children under 13, or any higher minimum age required by local law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.

14Not Financial Advice

Budgeting is a tool for tracking and planning your own money. It does not provide financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and its insights and assistant answers are not a substitute for a qualified professional.

15Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will let you know in the app, on our website or by another appropriate method. The effective date above shows when this version took effect.
