A Brighter You

Your growth stays yours.

This Privacy Policy explains how A Brighter You handles your information when you shape your Future Self, complete your daily ritual and keep evidence of your progress.

Effective: September 28, 2026 contact@devello.co

Privacy Policy for A Brighter You. A Brighter You is a personal-growth app developed by Devello (“Devello”, “we”, “us”). Devello is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. Because what you write in the app can be personal, we collect only what the app needs, we do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising. By using A Brighter You, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

1Information You Provide

Depending on the features you use, A Brighter You processes information you enter, including:

  • Your answers during setup: your first name, the area of life you want to grow in, your goal and why it matters (typed or dictated), how you want to feel, your time horizon, the qualities, mindset, behaviors and habits of your Future Self, what holds you back, how much you believe in yourself, the time you have each day, your preferred tone, ritual time, reminder style and voice.
  • Your daily ritual: mood check-ins and optional notes, the steps you complete, notes on your daily action and your evening reflections.
  • Evidence: the moments you save (what happened, what it proved, tags and dates), and photos you choose to add.
  • Vision board and Future Self: images and words you add.
  • Library: items you save and affirmations you write yourself.
  • Account details, if you choose to sign in: the email address (and name, where provided) from Sign in with Apple, Google or email and password.
  • Messages to us: what you send when you contact support or send feedback.

2Information Created as You Use the App

  • An account identifier. When your plan is created, the app starts a private account for you, without asking for an email. You can later add a way to sign in so your progress follows you to a new phone.
  • Your time zone and language, to prepare each day's ritual for your local day.
  • Content made for you: your Future Self profile, your journey and its milestones, and each day's affirmations, action and audio message.
  • Your subscription status, as reported by the App Store or Google Play through our subscription provider.
  • Technical information needed to run and protect the service, such as app version, device and operating-system type, error diagnostics, and device attestations (Firebase App Check with Google Play Integrity and Apple App Attest or DeviceCheck) that confirm requests come from the genuine app.

A Brighter You does not collect your precise location, contacts or advertising identifier, and it does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

3Sensitive Information

Reflections, moods, goals and notes can reveal personal matters, including your emotional wellbeing. We use them only to provide the features you choose, such as your plan, your daily ritual, your evidence timeline and your weekly recap.

We do not sell your information. We do not use it for advertising or share it with advertisers or data brokers.

To offer help when someone may be struggling, the app and our servers automatically check the words you write for phrases that suggest you may be at risk. When they match, the app shows support resources, such as helplines. This check is used for nothing else.

4How We Use Information

  • To create your Future Self, your journey and each day's ritual, and to adapt them to your answers and progress.
  • To save your ritual progress, evidence, vision board and library, and to show your journey, milestones and weekly recaps.
  • To schedule the reminders you turn on and to show your home-screen widgets.
  • To manage your subscription and confirm access to Premium features.
  • To keep the service secure and reliable, prevent abuse, and fix errors.
  • To answer your support requests and privacy requests.

5AI Personalization (Google Gemini)

Your plan and your daily content are written with the help of a third-party AI service, the Gemini API from Google LLC. Our servers send the request; the app itself never contacts the AI service.

  • Always: the answers you chose from lists during setup, such as your area of life, the qualities of your Future Self and your preferred tone. Never your name or anything you wrote or said.
  • Only if you agree to AI personalization: also your first name and your goal and why it matters, in your own words, and, on Premium, the affirmations you wrote yourself for your daily message. You are asked when your plan is created, and you can change your choice at any time under Profile → Privacy & Help → Manage AI personalization.

Google processes this information on Devello's behalf to produce the content. Under the terms for Google's paid Gemini API services, Google does not use this data to improve its products or train its models; it may keep it for a limited period to detect and prevent abuse. The content it produces is stored in your own account and deleted when you delete your data.

AI-generated content can be inaccurate or unsuitable. It is meant for personal reflection and motivation, not as professional advice.

6Voice and Audio

  • Dictation. When you speak instead of typing, your device's speech recognition (from Apple or Google) turns your voice into text. We do not record or keep your voice; only the text you choose to save is stored.
  • Your daily audio message. The message is spoken by the Gemini API's text-to-speech from Google: our servers send the message's words, which may include your first name and details from your plan, to Google, and store the returned audio in your private storage. The same terms as in section 5 apply.
  • Voice samples. The samples you can play while choosing a voice say the same sentence for everyone.

7Photos, Reminders and Widgets

  • Photos you add are resized on your device, and their embedded metadata, including location, is removed before they are uploaded to your private storage. A photo you choose as a background when sharing an affirmation stays on your device.
  • Reminders are scheduled on your device. Their words are general and never include what you wrote.
  • Home-screen widgets read a summary the app keeps on your device. You can hide personal content from widgets under Profile → Appearance & Widgets.
  • Sharing. When you share an affirmation or your week, the app creates an image on your device and hands it to your phone's share sheet; we do not see where you send it.

8Subscriptions and Payments

Purchases are made through the Apple App Store or Google Play, which process your payment under their own terms; we never receive your card details. Our subscription provider, RevenueCat, Inc., receives the purchase records the stores share, linked to your app account identifier, so that Premium works on each of your devices and our servers can confirm your access.

9Usage Information

We may count how the app is used, for example that a ritual step was completed or a screen was opened, to understand what helps and to improve the app. These counts never contain what you write, say or photograph.

10Service Providers

We rely on these providers, which process information on our behalf under their own security and privacy obligations:

  • Google LLC — Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions and App Check) to run the service and store your data, and the Gemini API for AI personalization and your audio messages, as described in sections 5 and 6.
  • RevenueCat, Inc. — subscription management.
  • Apple Inc. and Google LLC — app distribution, payments, sign-in (if you choose it), device attestation and on-device speech recognition.

11Where Your Data Is Stored

Your account data and files are stored on Google Cloud in the United States. Some information is also kept on your device so the app works offline. If information is transferred across borders, we rely on appropriate safeguards required by applicable data-protection law, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

12Retention and Deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account exists, so that your journey and evidence stay with you. You can delete everything at any time under Profile → Privacy & Help → Delete my data: your answers, rituals, evidence, photos, audio, library and account are permanently removed from our systems. Deletion cannot be undone.

Deleting the app from your phone does not delete your account. If you never added a way to sign in, please use Delete my data before uninstalling, or email us and we will delete your account.

13Security

Information is encrypted in transit and at rest by our infrastructure provider. Access to your data is limited to your own account by security rules, and requests to our servers are checked for a genuine app. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

14Your Privacy Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access your information and receive a portable copy: use Profile → Privacy & Help → Export my data.
  • Correct your information: edit your preferences, Future Self and entries in the app.
  • Delete your information: use Delete my data, or email us.
  • Withdraw consent: turn off AI personalization at any time; this does not affect processing before you withdrew.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Complain to your local data-protection authority.

You can also turn reminders off, hide personal content from widgets, and sign out at any time. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To make a privacy request, email contact@devello.co.

15Children

A Brighter You is not directed to children under 13, or any higher minimum age required by local law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.

16Wellbeing Disclaimer

A Brighter You is a personal-growth and reflection tool. It does not provide medical or psychological advice, diagnosis or treatment, and it is not a substitute for a qualified professional. If you are in crisis or think you may harm yourself, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line right away; you can find one at findahelpline.com.

17Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will let you know in the app, on our website or by another appropriate method. The effective date above shows when this version took effect.
